Fragen und Bedingungen musealer Vermittlung im globalen Kontext

„Wem gehört das Museum?“ – Diese auf den ersten Blick einfache Frage soll im gleichnamigen Symposium vor dem Hintergrund sich wandelnder Gesellschaften neu gestellt werden und als Ausgangpunkt dienen, um über neue Formen der Vermittlung und des (Auf-)Zeigens kultureller Inhalte und Objekte nachzudenken. Das Symposium findet vom 18. – 20.01.2017 im K20 statt und richtet sich an internationale Museumsexpert/innen, Kunst- und Kulturvermittler/innen sowie Pädagog/innen.

Questions and Conditions Regarding Museum Mediation in a Global Context

“Whose museum is it?” – This at first glance simple question asked by a schoolboy from a “welcoming class” will be asked anew at the symposium against the backdrop of our changing societies. With the aim of studying and disclosing the existing structures in museums and responding to the growing diversity and heterogeneity in the ways of life exhibited in society, the symposium organized by the education department will think about new forms of mediating art and showing/illustrating cultural expressions and artefacts.

This symposium for international museum experts as well as art and cultural mediators, and pedagogues will include several panels and a so-called „Market of Ideas“. The symposium will be held in German and English. Simultaneous interpreting will be available.
